Engaging System and State Leadership

Engaged State Leadership

Successful state sector strategies rely on a set of engaged state system (such as economic and workforce development, education, human services) leaders that come together to discuss common goals in the area of state economic vitality, and who understand the value of supporting regional sector initiatives. This requires system leaders to convene, to communicate openly, to find common ground and consensus, to establish trust with each other, and to offer resources toward common objectives. This module will provide guidance on this process, including tips for engaging system leadership and state leadership at the Governor and State Legislative levels.
